Hello, My name is Janay Osborne and I am currently a third year majoring in Sociology. My hometown is Riverside, California but the Bay Area has stolen my heart. I am the current Academic Retention Coordinator for the Black Recruitment and Retention Center under the BRIDGES Multicultural Center. As much as I love promoting higher education for marginalized communities, I intend on pursuing a Doctorate Degree in Clinical Psychology in hopes I can connect mental health to the communities I interact with today. When I am not analyzing social institutions, I enjoy discovering new music, hanging out with friends, and practicing new hairstyles.

Hello, my name is Farryl Christina Lawson and I am currently a pre-med, third year majoring in Molecular Environmental Biology with an emphasis in Environment and Human Health, and minoring in Theater and Performance Studies. I am from Houston, Texas, where I grew up acting, singing, and dancing for numerous theater productions. Some of my favorite shows I’ve participated in include: Romeo and Juliet, Hairspray, Chavez Ravine, Bye Bye Birdie, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 12 Angry Men, and Les Misérables. I aspire to become both an obstetric anesthesiologist and an actress, where I can follow my dual passion for science and theater. In my spare time, I love to travel, sing, and hang out with friends. I strive to be an example for all underrepresented S.T.E.M. majors, encouraging them that with perseverance and determination anything is possible.
